Roeland Hendrikx has a successful dual career as a soloist and an orchestral musician. Roeland Hendrikx, clarinet-solo of the Belgian National Orchestra, has earned the reputation of being one of classical music's finest solo, chamber and orchestral musicians. Before joining the National Orchestra of Belgian in 2003, he was es-clarinet solo at "La Monnaie", the National Opera of Belgium for 6 years.
Roeland appeared as a soloist with several European and North-American orchestras. As a distinguished chamber musician, Roeland Hendrikx has performed at wellknown music festivals in Europe, Japan and the US. He collaborated with fantastic artists and string quartets.

Programme
The Shanghai Quartet has a wide repertoire. They almost play every string quartet of Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven Op.18. In consultation with Roeland the quartet proposes the following evening programme:

Beethoven string quartet Opus 18 nr. 6 (26’)

Other musical programmes are of course possible.
Tip: On November 23th 2018 the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki (1933) will reach the age of 85. In 2008 he composed a string quartet for the Shanghai Quartet: Penderecki Quartet No. 3, leaves of an unwritten dairy (commissioned and written for Shanghai Quartet's 25th anniversary) This music piece can be combined with the quartet for clarinet and string trio, composed by Krzysztof Penderecki in 1993.
