La Captive - Boho Strings
Ann Geerts
La Captive is the haunting portrait of a single immigrant mother who fights for a decent life for her and her child. Faced with the barriers of bureaucracy, prejudices, and inner despair she searches the depths of her soul for the strength to continue. As much a musical journey as an emotional one, this program draws from a wide range of musical sources. Accompanied by first-person witness accounts, La Captive brings the listener face to face with humanity’s lack of decency, empathy and compassion.
