"Inspired by the idea of the ceremonial experience, this program offers a meditative reflection on a society undergoing profound change."
Change is a fundamental condition of human existence, both in a physical and metaphysical sense. In this artistic collaboration with video artist Geert Lenssens, Boho Strings will revisit the historical context of Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen – the madness of the war years 1944-45, in order to connect both visually and musically with the present.
This multi-disciplinary concert experience was inspired by the remembrance moments after terrorist attacks, which bring forth a message of unity through silence and serenity, a collective voice which speaks out without words.
The trajectory of this program embodies the physical manifestation of the inward striving for enlightenment, going from the physical brutality of our existence (De Profundis), and the resulting feelings of loss (Metamorphosen), to a moment of contemplation and self-reflection (In Deep Silence) towards the security of feeling united (Martynov).
